Gram UJALA Scheme 2023

Mr. Ram Kumar Singh ji started a new scheme on 19 March 2021, which is named Gram Ujala Scheme Under this scheme, LED bulbs will be given to the citizens for just Rs.10. The best thing about this scheme is that even because of low cost of the bulb, the government is not giving any assistance or subsidy in it. Under the Gramin Gram UJALA Scheme 2023, the government wants to remove India from darkness and a big decision has been taken to light this scheme in every house.

The nodal agency for the operation of this scheme is Convergence Energy Service Limited. Convergence Energy Services Limited is also known as CESL. In the first phase of the scheme, 1.5 crore bulbs will be given by CESL.

Gram UJALA Yojana 2023

Union Energy Minister Shri RK Singh launched the Gram Ujala Scheme 2023 on 19 March 2021 to provide high-quality LED bulbs at low rates in the villages. Under this scheme, Conversion Energy Services Limited, a subsidiary unit of government company Energy Efficiency Services Limited, is providing LED bulbs to rural households at the rate of Rs 10 per bulb in rural districts. The cost of LED bulbs is very high due to which many citizens in the villages cannot buy these LED bulbs and they run their work with old high voltage bulbs only. But now for such citizens, the government is providing LED bulbs at low cost under the village plan, so that electricity can be saved and the electricity bill of the houses of these citizens can also be reduced a lot.

CESL is a Government of India energy company, the world's largest energy service company. The Government of India holds a 100% stake in the company, which is a joint venture between Power Finance Corporation, NTPC, REC Limited, and Power Grid.

The objective of the Gram Ujala Scheme

Even today 300 million i.e. more than 30 crore citizens in India are living in the yellow bulb. If these yellow bulbs are replaced by LED bulbs, then 40773 million kilowatts of electricity can be saved every year. And along with this, it will also be helpful in reducing carbon dioxide gas consumption by 30 million tonnes on an annual basis and the Gram Ujala scheme will prove to be very beneficial in saving energy in our country.

How much time warranty will be available on the bulb?

In the first phase of Gram Ujala Scheme 2023, LED bulbs of 7 and 12 boards will be provided, on which 4 hours of 3 years will also be given. This help is only for the citizens of villages and districts. Therefore, this assistance will be provided only in the villages of the above areas. Mr. Alok Kumar, Secretary, the Ministry of Power said about the Gram Ujala scheme that it is a very important scheme that will also deal with the challenge of climate change.

Advantages of Gram Ujala Yojana

The Gram Ujala program has been started by the Central Government in collaboration with Power and Renewable Energy. Under the Gram UJALA Program, in the first phase, LED bulbs will be distributed in Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, Arrah in Bihar, Nagpur in Maharashtra, Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, and some areas of western Gujarat.
