Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Town and Country Planning from a recognized Institution OR Associate Membership of at least one of the following Institutions: (a) Institute of Planners (India) (b) American Institute of Town Planners (c) ) Membership of the Institute of Town Planners (London) or the Institute of Town Planners (India) or equivalent qualification of London or USA.

- Served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years.

UPPSC Assistant Town Planner exam pattern
- Paper I: General Studies (300 marks)
- Paper II: Town Planning (900 marks)

- Paper II will be of 6 hours duration and will consist of 600 descriptive questions. (No Negative Marking)
