Essential Qualification Details

Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Town and Country Planning from a recognized Institution OR Associate Membership of at least one of the following Institutions: (a) Institute of Planners (India) (b) American Institute of Town Planners (c) ) Membership of the Institute of Town Planners (London) or the Institute of Town Planners (India) or equivalent qualification of London or USA.

Preferential Qualification Details

  • Served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years.
  • Obtained a B certificate of the National Cadet Corps etc.

UPPSC Assistant Town Planner exam pattern

The exam will be conducted in two papers:

  • Paper I: General Studies (300 marks)
  • Paper II: Town Planning (900 marks)

  • Paper 1 will be conducted for 3 hours with each question carrying 2 marks and a negative marking of 1/3 mark.

  • Paper II will be of 6 hours duration and will consist of 600 descriptive questions. (No Negative Marking)

The age limit for the UPPSC Assistant Town Planner exam is 21 years.
