What is a BPT course?

As the name suggests, the BPT course is an undergraduate-level course in which Physiotherapy is taught and taught in detail.

BPT course duration

BPT course is of full four years. After completing four years of studies, it is mandatory for the student to do an internship of 6 months.

The four year Bachelor of Physiotherapy course is divided into a total of 8 semesters. There is an exam at the end of each semester, passing which you get admission in the next semester.

During the internship the student has to work under another senior physiotherapist. Through this the student gets practical knowledge.

Eligibility for BPT Course?

If you are thinking of taking admission in BPT course then you should first know whether you are eligible to take admission in the BPT course or not.

To take admission in BPT, the candidate must have 12th pass with at least 50% marks.

If there is 45% marks for the reserved category, it will work even then.

In 12th, it is mandatory for the student to have Chemistry, Biology and Physics subjects.

Apart from this, the candidate must also have passed 12th with English as a subject.

In some colleges, it is mandatory for the student to be at least 17 years old for admission in bpt course.

If it is a matter of upper age limit or maximum age limit, then it has not been decided for admission in BPT.

BPT course Admission process

To take admission in Bachelor of Physiotherapy in any college or university, the candidate must first appear in the entrance exam.

To give BPT Entrance exam, the candidate must first fill the application form of the desired college or university or state level entrance exam.

The names of BPT entrance exams taken by different top universities and states are as follows –

  • Indraprastha University – IPU CET Entrance Exam
  • VELS University – VEE Entrance Exam
  • Bihar – BCECE Entrance Exam

All the above mentioned entrance exams are composite entrance exams. That means, apart from BPT, admission can also be taken in other medical courses through these exams.

That's it, there is no separate particular exam for the BPT course.

After the entrance exam, the cut off list of BPT course comes out. If the cut off marks of the candidate have come, then he can take admission in BPT course.

If the candidate clears the state level entrance exam then he/she will get a chance to study in a government college or university.

In our advice, for admission in BPT course, the candidate should appear for both state level and private university entrance exams.

After qualifying the entrance exam, the process of document verification takes place. In the document verification, all the original documents have to be shown in the college.

After which the candidate gets admission in BPT course.

Some colleges also conduct group discussion and student interviews before document verification.

BPT course fees in government colleges range from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1,00,000 while BPT course fees in private colleges range from Rs 1,00,000 to Rs 5,00,000.

After completing 4 years of BPT course and 6 months of internship, you can take admission in any specialization course or do a job.
